Why do we do retreats?

Company retreats are essential for building strong connections among our remote team. While remote work offers flexibility, it can also lead to feelings of isolation, making these retreats vital for fostering collaboration and trust.

During our last retreat, we engaged in team-building exercises and fun challenges that pushed us out of our comfort zones. Activities like hiking not only tested our physical and mental strength but also encouraged teamwork. A standout moment was our kayaking experience, which let us explore the area while learning to navigate the kayaks. This activity fostered teamwork and helped us create lasting memories together.

Feedback from the team was overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed how meeting face-to-face deepened their sense of connection and motivation.

In essence, our company retreats are more than just a break from work—they’re crucial for enhancing team spirit, sparking creativity, and recharging our energy for the challenges ahead.

Negative impact of remote working.

Working remotely has become the norm for many, offering flexibility and convenience. However, one of the unintended consequences of this is the tendency to remain tethered to our desks for extended periods. This can lead to a range of negative impacts on both physical and mental well-being.

Staying at your desk for too long can result in physical issues such as poor posture, back pain, and increased fatigue. The lack of movement contributes to a sedentary lifestyle, which is associated with a higher risk of various health problems, including obesity, heart disease, and even anxiety and depression. Furthermore, the isolation that can accompany remote work can take a toll on mental health, leading to feelings of disconnection and stress.

At nzyme active, we recognise these challenges and are committed to combatting them. Our initiative encourages movement, community engagement, and a balanced approach to work. We aim to inspire our team to step away from their desks, embrace physical activity, and prioritise their health. By promoting regular breaks, fun activities, and supportive challenges, we help foster a healthier work environment that not only enhances productivity but also nurtures mental well-being.

Our People

At nzyme active, our people are the heart of everything we do. We work remotely, spread across different locations, bringing diverse skills and flexibility, but it can also mean fewer opportunities to connect on a personal level. That’s why our retreats and group activities are so valuable—they bring us together in person, helping us strengthen relationships and collaborate more effectively.

These retreats are not just about work; they also provide a much-needed chance to unplug, stay active, and enjoy the outdoors. We believe that staying physically active and spending time outside are essential for both physical and mental well-being. Taking time away from our screens, being physically active, and enjoying nature helps us recharge, stay focused, and manage stress.
